How the Classes Work
The PrepScholar Instructor-Led Classes package consists of two components: the live group classes you attend, and the self-paced Complete SAT Online Prep program. They work in synergy to help you get a top score!

Begin with a Diagnostic Test
Create your PrepScholar account and complete our 90-minute smart diagnostic test. After you review the breakdown of your proficiency across 45 areas or skills, we’ll use this data to personalize your online program and begin assigning you targeted lessons and quizzes immediately.

Start Self-Paced Adaptive Online Course
Start working on your first individualized homework assignments in the adaptive Complete Online Prep program to begin learning and practicing. You’ll also take timed, full-length practice tests when assigned by the online program, roughly every 10 hours.

Join the Live Classes
Join your instructor and classmates in a group of no more than 9 students in an intuitive online classroom that follows a carefully planned syllabus and allows you to ask questions as you go. Each class curriculum consists of 6 classes of 90-minutes each. You can choose from our many schedules listed below.

Get Personalized Homework Assignments
Between each class and after the group classes end, you’ll get personalized homework assignments through the Complete Online Prep program so you continue practicing and mastering what you learned. In total, we recommend around 40 to 50 hours of prep in the online program.
Top Scorers. Amazing Instructors.
We only hire the best instructors to lead PrepScholar Classes. Each of our instructors has scored in the 99th percentile on the test. They’ve also attended top colleges. But unlike other companies, everyone on our team is a passionate, talented educator. They don’t just know the test, they know how to explain complicated ideas and patiently guide you through your test prep.
Our Proven Syllabus – What to Expect in Each PrepScholar SAT Class
SAT for Beginners
This class designed for students who are unfamiliar with the SAT and want to build skills on fundamental algebraic concepts, grammar, and many other topics covered on the SAT. It is recommended to take this course if you’re struggling to break from close to 1000 points to 1200 points; it can then be followed by SAT Essentials.
SAT Essentials
SAT Essentials is a class designed for the SAT student looking to grow their score from the 1200s with focused strategies. Building on the fundamentals, this course takes students to more advanced subjects to score their best in the least amount of time. To go further, students can continue onto the Advanced Topics class.
Advanced SAT Topics
This class is designed for those students who are already scoring 1400+ but aiming for top schools and want to absolutely maximize their scores. This course will help students avoid errors in common areas, provide testing strategies, and knowledge on the advanced math and reading topics covered on the SAT.
Not sure which class to choose? We suggest selecting a class based on your starting PSAT/SAT score from an official or practice test. If you find that the class you chose isn’t the right fit, no worries! You can switch to a different level by notifying us before the third class session.
(Class sessions are 90 minutes each)
Session 1 – Digital SAT Overview and Intro to Grammar.
We’ll break down for you the structure of the Digital SAT, including PrepScholar’s top strategies for tackling each section’s modules and how to utilize the embedded tools provided for you on test day.
After we provide strategies for time management, maintaining focus, and staying motivated, you’ll then dive into grammar concepts such as verb tense agreements and sentence structure.
Session 2 – The PrepScholar Reading method, and developing grammar strategies.
Learn our method of identifying the types of questions the test will ask in the Reading and Writing section. We’ll show you the fastest way to identify the skills being tested so you can answer accurately and confidently.
Afterwards, you’ll learn a few more grammar concepts such as punctuation, precise words and phrases, and transitional phrases, and apply them to practice questions.
Session 3 – Reading closely and using evidence.
Zoom in on the details of Reading passages. Building on the strategies you learned in your first class, you’ll learn to find and use the specific information you need to answer the SAT’s little-picture questions.
You’ll learn to crack specific question types including finding key details, command of evidence, and inferences. You will also go over common wrong answer traps in the reading and writing section.
Session 4 – Intro to Math: strategies, tools, and active reading.
We’ll revisit the structure of the math section, learning PrepScholar’s top strategies and introducing when and how to use the Desmos calculator. We’ll show you how to read math questions actively to ensure you can answer these questions confidently.
You’ll then learn about two important algebraic skill sets for the test: defining and interpreting linear functions, and solving single variable equations.
Session 5 – Algebra: word problems to function notation.
Building on the previous class, we’ll dive deeper into the biggest topic in SAT math: Algebra. This session will teach you how to turn word problems into equations, as well as exponential functions and function notation.
You won’t just learn the math topics; you’ll also learn the strategies you need to apply what you learn to real test questions.
Session 6 – Geometry, content review, and test day strategy.
This session is split into three parts. First, you’ll cover geometry concepts and strategies, from triangles to solving for the area and perimeter of all polygons. Second, you’ll review PrepScholar’s top five math strategies and overall grammar, reading, and writing strategies.
Finally, you’ll learn strategies for the week before the test and test day itself. You’ll learn how to continue practicing before the test, and how to stay focused, manage anxiety, and pace yourself on test day.
